Terms of use
The rules for using the site
Last updated 18 October 2026
Honest Nibbles is a free guide to eating in the GTA. By using it you agree to these terms. They’re written to be read, so they’re short.
Our scores
Scores are opinions
Crew scores are the honest opinions of the people who wrote them, after visits they paid for. They aren’t facts about a restaurant, and a different visit can go differently. The method explains how each score is made.
Diners’ ratings are the opinions of the people who posted them, not ours. We check them against our guidelines, but we don’t check every claim in them.
Listings
Check before you go
- Facts can change. Hours, prices, menus and addresses change without notice. We fix what we hear about, but please check with the restaurant before a special trip.
- Allergies and diets. Nothing on the site is advice about allergies or diets. Always ask the restaurant.
- Listings from OpenStreetMap. Many spots our crew hasn’t reviewed yet come from OpenStreetMap, made by volunteers (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL). A listing isn’t a recommendation.
- Google ratings are a snapshot. The Google star rating and review count on a spot (for example “★ 4.4 · 1,203 Google reviews (as of Oct 2026)”) is from the month shown, not live, and can change after that date. Tap Google reviews for the current rating and reviews on Google. Google isn’t connected with Honest Nibbles and doesn’t endorse it, and its ratings are never mixed into our crew or diners’ scores.
- Links to other sites. Delivery apps, Google, maps and restaurant websites have their own terms. Some delivery links may pay us a commission; that never changes a score.
Your ratings
When you rate a spot
- One account per person. Rate spots you’ve actually eaten at, as yourself. One rating per spot, which you can change.
- Follow the guidelines. No fake ratings, no ratings for a place you’re connected to, and nothing hateful, private or off-topic.
- It stays yours. You keep the rights to what you write. You let Honest Nibbles show it on the site and in shared previews of it, for as long as it’s up.
- We can take things down. We remove ratings that break the guidelines, and we can close accounts that keep breaking them.
- You can take it down too. Delete a rating, or your whole account and every rating with it, from your account page at any time.
Using the site
Please don’t
- Scrape or copy the site in bulk, or use it to build another guide.
- Try to break or overload it, or get around the limits that keep ratings honest.
- Pretend to be someone else, including the crew or a restaurant.
The fine print
What we can’t promise
We run Honest Nibbles with care, but it’s provided as it is. We can’t promise it will always be available, complete or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for losses that come from relying on it, such as a meal you didn’t enjoy or a trip to a closed restaurant.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada. If we change them, we’ll update the date at the top, and the new terms apply from then on.
